Stephanie Pelayo, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I am the founder and director of Soulwell Group a multidisciplinary practice guided by current research in the areas of neuroscience, attachment and relationally-based therapies. As a clinical psychologist, I am interested in helping resolve relational challenges, which interfere with having a satisfying family life and relationships. I have worked extensively with traumatized children and adults who want to deepen connections, have increased intimacy and have successful relationships.

I obtained my advanced degree from Rosemead School of Psychology’s APA accredited doctoral program in 2002 and continued my specialized training in child and family trauma and parent-child relationship treatment at USC/ Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. I utilize contemporary psychodynamic theory, family systems, EMDR and play therapy to closely tailor my interventions to meet the emotional, behavioral, and spiritual needs of the family. Much of my experience ranges the developmental spectrum from a long tenure working with children and families, to teaching graduate courses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Lifespan Development.

My hope is that you will have in me a safe ‘other’ who counts it a high honor to know you, and have the privilege to bear witness to the wounds and ultimately, the hope.

Perhaps at the heart of who I am, is being a mom, alongside with my husband where we explore widely with our three children.
