Alissa Ayala, AMFT
Associate Marriage and family therapist
I help individuals reach a place in their lives where they have secure relationships and interpersonal growth. I have a particular interest in treating children, families, and couples particularly those affected by trauma and relational attachment difficulties. I have particular interests in EMDR for trauma treatment, somatic and embodied therapy, and couples and family therapy. My approach is holistic, humanistic and I believe that through relational connection, we can grow, change and thrive.
I received my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University and completed my training at Olive Crest working with severely traumatized children and families. I am professionally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, Play Therapy, and Prepare/ Enrich for couples and families.
My goal as a therapist is to help clients experience all the richness of their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. My studies in the mind-body connection are also incorporated in the practice through somatic work to bring about healing that is felt as well as experienced.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature and the outdoors, painting, and connecting with loved ones (especially over good food).
