Brianna Izabal, MS, APCC
Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
My years and experience working with children and youth are diverse and varied from working within an early childhood setting, to various integrated school settings. I am invested in the cognitive, emotional and developmental growth of children and adolescents and believe in a strong partnership with parents to help create strong, secure and stable children throughout their lifespan. My treatment approaches create a relational-based and holistic atmosphere of safety, trust, understanding, and acceptance. I encourage and provide opportunities for decision-making, self-responsibility, and strengthening feelings of agency by using directive and non-directive forms of play therapy interventions.
I received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Children and Adolescents from Azusa Pacific University. I completed my training at Claremont Unified School District working with kindergarten through 6th grade students and their families and working with children and adolescents. I am experienced in helping families move through grief and loss, and facilitate a grief and loss summer camp called Camp Morning.
As a therapist, I want to help families reach their full potential so they can proceed toward integration and self-improvement. My studies in Child-Centered Play Therapy are utilized in the practice to bring about a reduction of symptomatic behaviors and an increase in overall well-being and general functioning.
During my free time, I enjoy reading, watching Disney movies, and spending quality time with loved ones.
